The Club
Outdoor Range
The outdoor range comprises 12 target lanes, accommodating a maximum of three archers shooting on each lane at the same time.
Indoor Range
The indoor range allows us to shoot in all weather and all year round, with 8 targets with up to 2 archers per target. Shooting up to 25 meters
Our Facilities
The club owns both the field and the facilities, with plenty of parking space including designated areas for accessible parking. With facilities and the indoor range has lighting, facilitating shooting in the dark.
Outdoor range
Acquiring a field stood as a key objective upon the club's establishment in 2001. This aspiration came to fruition in 2014, owing to the dedicated fundraising endeavours of both past and present members, resulting in the acquisition of the land now identified as Meridian Field.
Meridian Field comprises two ranges: a twelve-lane outdoor range and an eight-lane indoor 'covered range'. Ample parking is available, inclusive of six designated 'Accessible Parking' spaces tailored for members and visitors with limited mobility.
The subsequent images offer a glimpse of the outdoor range.
Of the twelve outdoor lanes, nine lanes are open to all bow types for distances of up to 100 yards. The remaining three lanes are designated for non-compound bows (utilising non-mechanical release aids) at shorter distances. Distance indicators are permanently marked along the sides, and individual lane markers are provided at all recognised distances. In 2022, we installed ground crates along the shooting line to enhance the surface for archers with restricted mobility and visual impairments.
Indoor Range
On the 25th of October 2015, then Club Chairman and founding member, Elaine Marshall, officially opened the indoor range for its inaugural shoot.
In celebration, each archer had the opportunity to participate in a draw for the privilege of shooting the first arrow. This honour was bestowed upon founder member Geoff Marshall. Following this, all assembled archers were invited to shoot one arrow each at a commemorative target face, which was subsequently signed by everyone present. This face has since been framed and now adorns the walls of the range.
The indoor range is accessible for members throughout the year. It comprises eight targets and allows shooting at distances of up to 25m.
