Badges

Portsmouth Round badges

To earn these badges, you need to shoot a Portsmouth round, which is a very popular indoor round. These badges are free for all senior and junior club members, but you can only earn them for one style of bow.

The badges come in increments of 25 points. Adults will receive their first badge when they score 500 points, and juniors will get theirs at 350 points. Then, it's every 50 points until they reach 500. After that, badges are awarded every 25 points.

Don't worry about applying for the badges yourself. The Records Officer will automatically give you your badge when you've earned it - you just need to send in your score sheets.

These scores are also used to determine your indoor handicap. Therefore, it's crucial to record all your scores on a club score sheet and submit them to the Records Officer by placing them in the box located in the garage. This step is especially important if you plan to participate in tournaments.

Please be aware that only the first round shot (at each distance) on a particular day will be considered.

252 Badge Scheme

The 252 Badge Scheme offers a fun way to boost your confidence and accuracy before attempting longer distances. Shooting three dozen arrows allows newer archers to ease into the challenge before moving on to longer rounds. Meanwhile, the longer distances pose a welcome challenge for more experienced archers. It's important to note that scores from this scheme won't contribute to your handicap or classification.

Please be aware that only the first round shot (at each distance) on a particular day will be considered.

The 252 score sheet and badge claim form are available on the 'Policies & Documents' page.
